Whether it’s meeting with new clients to curate their dream wedding or back and forth email correspondence to create the perfect corporate event, The Durham Exchange would not be the well-oiled machine that it is today without the dedicated dream team that keep things running behind the scenes.

 

Meet Suzie, Venue Manager at The Durham Exchange

Suzie is originally from Long Island, New York. She attended Quinnipiac University where she completed her bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and small business management and a masters degree in public relations. While planning her own wedding, Suzie discovered her love for the event planning business and has never looked back.

 

What does your day to day look like at The Durham Exchange?

Everyday is different but consists mainly of responding to emails and phone calls, brainstorming ideas to help grow the business, creating timelines and event layouts, booking events and tours, creating new projects for clients, walking new clients through the venue and making sure booked events are executed perfectly.

Why do you love what you do at The Durham Exchange?

I love the creative aspect of my job. I get to brainstorm new ideas to improve our business and discuss them with the team. I also have the privilege of working with different types of people and helping them turn their dream events into a reality. I love showing off our venue, understanding a client’s vision and getting aligned on how The Durham Exchange can bring it to life. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

In my free time I enjoy playing video games with my husband and cuddling up with my two dogs, both Cavalier King Charles.

 

Meet Madeline, General Manager at The Durham Exchange

Madeline Bailey, General Manager

Madeline was born in Florida, and raised right here in North Carolina. She is passionate about implementing processes that ensure the smooth running of things over at The Durham Exchange. You will find Madeline behind the scenes ensuring no detail is overlooked in the event designing process.

 

What does your day to day look like at The Durham Exchange?

A lot of my day is doing the behind the scenes admin projects for the venue and building. I am heavily involved in daily operations at The Durham Exchange.

Why do you love what you do at The Durham Exchange?

I really enjoy seeing the joy and happiness that come out of the events that we have here at The Durham Exchange. From the initial contact when someone is planning their wedding or party to seeing the pictures after the event has happened, it’s great to be part of those special memories.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

When I am not at work you can find me spending time with my family! We love to go on nature hikes, ride bikes and watch movies!
